The Public Trustee and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra are working together to bring the joy of music to the residents of Rosary Gardens.
This event is part of the Public Trustee’s ongoing commitment to strengthen relationships with clients, their families, and local support networks.
Public Trustee CEO, Todd Kennedy, said that music in an aged care setting can help reduce stress, improve mood, spark memories and strengthen social connections, supporting both emotional and social wellbeing for clients.
“Music has a remarkable ability to bring people together and lift spirits and it’s another way for us to make sure we are putting our clients at the centre of everything we do,” Mr Kennedy said.
TSO Development Director, Sarah Morrisby, said performing in aged care facilities was an important way for the orchestra to connect with the Tasmanian community.
“Our small TSO ensembles perform in aged care settings right across Tasmania thanks to the support of our partners and Business Collective members including the Public Trustee. Our musicians relish the opportunity to mingle and chat with residents and their families, many of whom have a lifelong connection with music,’ Ms Morrisby said.
The Public Trustee’s collaboration with the TSO forms part of its broader commitment to community engagement, supporting initiatives that enhance quality of life and strengthen relationships with clients across Tasmania.
