Public Trustee supports clients to attend 43rd Speak Out Self Advocacy Conference

The Public Trustee is committed to empowering people with disability and helping them to speak up and be heard.

That’s why the Public Trustee is once again sponsoring clients and their support people to attend the 2025 Speak Out Self Advocacy Conference in Devonport this week (15-16 October).

“The Speak Out Advocacy Conference is the longest running conference for people with disability in Australia and provides a safe and inclusive platform for attendees to share their stories, and connect with others,” said Public Trustee CEO, Todd Kennedy.

“Supporting clients to attend is a meaningful way that the Public Trustee can show its commitment to empowering the people we support in the Tasmanian community.

“The Speak Out Advocacy Conference provides a great opportunity for Tasmanians from a range of backgrounds to connect and share their stories. It also allows us to highlight the important role the Public Trustee plays when appointed as an administrator, attorney, or executor.

“By supporting attendance at the conference, the Public Trustee is making sure that its clients are included in vital conversations about rights, advocacy, and future planning.”

This year’s theme, ‘Self-Advocacy Without Limits – Empowering Voices,’ highlights the importance of advocacy, human rights, and inclusion. The event will take place on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 October 2025 at the paranaple Convention Centre, Devonport.
