The Chair of the Public Trustee Board, Therese Taylor, has announced the appointment of three new Board members.
“We received an overwhelming number of quality applicants to join the board. Our new appointments were specifically selected due to their personal and professional lived experiences dealing with the needs of vulnerable people in our community”, Ms Taylor said.
“Kim Barker, Mark Grey, and John Mazengarb. joined the board at the end of January 2023.”
“Each Board member brings diverse experience from the guardianship, disability, and financial sectors. They will help the Public Trustee to continue implementing the Independent review recommendations and assist with the change journey to become a more client-focused organisation.”
“I look forward to working with Kim, Mark, and John. I would also like to thank the outgoing board members, Tracy Matthews, and Barbara Hingston for their dedication and leadership.”
Kim is currently the Commissioner of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission and was formerly the Public Guardian, a member of the Parole Board, Deputy President of the Mental Health Tribunal, and a member of the Motor Accidents Insurance Board.
Mark is currently a board member with the General Practitioners Registrars Association, the RACT, the Queensland RSL and is Chair of Motor Neuron Disease Australia.
John is the National President of the Governance Institute of Australia and serves on the Spirit Super Board and the TasBuild Board.
