Free Wills for Seniors Month

Plan ahead with a free Will

This Seniors Month, eligible Seniors Card holders can prepare a free standard Will with the Public Trustee.

For a limited time, the first 70 eligible enquiries can also prepare a free Enduring Power of Attorney at the same appointment.

Whether you choose to appoint the Public Trustee, a family member, or a friend, this offer can help you put your plans in place and make your wishes clear.

What is included?

For the first 70 eligible enquiries:

  • Free standard Will
  • Free Enduring Power of Attorney when prepared at the same appointment as your Will
  • Choice to appoint the Public Trustee or a private person as your executor or attorney

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • hold a valid Seniors Card
  • complete and return a Personal Information Form between 1 September and 1 October 2026
  • be suitable for a standard Will appointment

This is a limited-time offer. Once all available appointments are filled, the offer will close.

Important – complete your Personal Information Form first

⚠️ You must complete and return a Personal Information Form before an appointment can be arranged.

This is the first step in the process and allows us to:

  • review your information
  • confirm your eligibility
  • determine whether a standard Will appointment is suitable for your circumstances
  • contact you to arrange an appointment

Appointments cannot be booked until your completed Personal Information Form has been received and reviewed.

Step 1 – Download and complete your Personal Information Form

Step 2 – Return your completed form to BSU@publictrustee.tas.gov.au with Free Will Offer in the subject line.

Step 3 – Once your form has been reviewed, we will contact you to discuss your eligibility and arrange an appointment.

This is a limited-time offer. Once all available appointments are filled, the offer will close.

Don’t wait – places are limited

This promotion is available to the first 70 eligible enquiries only.

The sooner you return your completed Personal Information Form, the sooner we can assess your eligibility and secure your place.

What is a standard Will?

We prepare standard Wills and can assist with many common estate planning needs. Where circumstances are more complex, we will discuss your options and let you know if specialised legal advice is recommended.

More complex estate planning matters

Some situations require specialised legal advice that is outside the scope of our standard Will service.

Examples include:

  • Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)
  • Family Trusts or Discretionary Trusts
  • Business ownership arrangements
  • Life interests or rights of residence
  • Significant overseas assets

In some cases, you may need to get independent legal advice from a solicitor with specialised expertise.

Finding a solicitor

The Law Society of Tasmania can help you find a local solicitor.

These services continue to be available throughout the year and are not limited by this promotion.
