Eleanor* believes in being prepared. That’s why she takes pride in the fact that all her children are excellent cooks, ‘…it’s important to me that my children have what they need to take care of themselves,’ she says. ‘I taught them all how to cook and gave them recipes for our family favourites.’
Passing on recipes is one way to keep family traditions alive. It’s how we connect, create memories, and show care for each other.
Documenting your wishes in an estate plan is another way you can ensure your legacy lives on, and your loved ones are cared for and know your wishes in the hardest of times.
Eleanor says, ‘I have arranged my estate plan so they [her children] have the information they need and won’t have to worry.’
An estate plan includes a Will, enduring power of attorney and enduring guardianship.
The Public Trustee can help. Make an appointment or call us on 1800 068 784 to find out more.
One of Eleanor’s family favourites is her spaghetti bolognaise, which she’s shared with us too.
